‘Kabir Singh’ released in 2018 and became one of Shahid’s biggest hits. After this, fans started calling Shahid as ‘Kabir Singh’ even in real life. Two years after the release of that film, Shahid is now making a comeback on the big screen with ‘Jersey’.
I went to everyone like a beggar after ‘Kabir Singh’ released
According to the report of our colleague Times of India, Shahid Kapoor said at the trailer launch of ‘Jersey’, “After Kabir Singh’s release, I went to everyone like a beggar. I also went to the people who made films worth 200-250 crores. I have never been a part of this club. This was brand new for me. Despite spending 15-16 years in the industry, none of my films have earned so much. So when it finally happened, I didn’t even know where to go. It was completely new for me.
‘This is the best film of my career so far’
Shahid Kapoor further said, ‘You can say that I tried very hard not to do ‘Jersey’. This film was offered to me even before ‘Kabir Singh’. I want to give credit to the director of the film Gowtam Tinnanuri who is still working with me. He waited for me. I am very happy that I did this film. I can say that this is my best film till date.
Interrupting Shahid, director Gautam said that the best thing he has done in his career is working with Shahid Kapoor. He said, after the tremendous success of ‘Kabir Singh’, Shahid has not changed at all. He completely got into the story and the character. It was a lot of fun working with him.
