► In the footsteps of Nureyev
“When evening comes, I don’t know what to do with myself if I’m not on stage. “ This quote from Rudolf Nureyev, highlighted in the program dedicated to him by the Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse, must undoubtedly resonate in the hearts of artists. Under the leadership of their director, Kader Belarbi – star of a generation shaped by Nureyev at the Paris Opera – the dancers of the Capitol were to give this show in front of their Toulouse audience in December.
Captured during a performance behind closed doors, this beautiful tribute is now visible on the Internet. For this program, supervised by two faithful of the choreographer, Charles Jude and Monique Loudières, Kader Belarbi has chosen emblematic extracts from some great ballets: Raymonda, The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella and of course, Swan Lake, with the black swan three step. With a formidable cast, grace and technical virtuosity find their perfect harmony.
Available free of charge until February 13 on the website www.theatreducapitole.fr
► Suresnes cited dance live
The annual hip-hop festival, which for almost 30 years has become a benchmark in the world of contemporary dance, was to be held in Suresnes, as it does every year. Sanitary constraints oblige, the festival invests the canvas with a few pieces. It presents in particular Compact, a brilliant duo created in 2016 by Jann Gallois – and performed live on January 25 – which explores, through the entanglement of two bodies, the richness of the human bond. A sparkling bubble of poetry and emotions!
From 1er February, Jann Gallois will present Reverse, a creation for five artists, inspired by different hip-hop techniques practiced with the head on the floor. To discover finally, In Beetween, an unprecedented mix of krump, Sufi dances and magic signed Ingrid Estarque. A beautiful journey in perspective.
Compact, available free of charge until January 31 on the website www.theatre-suresnes.fr/festival-en-live/, then Reverse from 1er to February 8, In Beetween February 8 to 15
► In the fire of flamenco
Here is a great consolation for those nostalgic for the warmth of tablaos, in need of dance and music. Several artists from the French flamenco scene, deprived of an audience for many months, responded to an invitation from the Puro Flamenco collective, launched by guitarist Rodophe Babignan. They defend their art in a filmed show, broadcast each week in sequence via the Helloasso site or the Collective’s Facebook page.
The opportunity to admire – in detail, thanks to the narrow shots of the recording – some magnificent dancers, accompanied by singers and musicians, in traditional flamenco figures: the solea, by Aurélia Vidal, then Sharon Sultan, a cana by Manolo Punto and finally Alejandra La Verea in Alegrias. Something to vibrate in tune with colorful emotions.
Online (free participation) until 1er February (Aurélia Vidal and Manolo Punto) then from 1er to February 8 for Alejandra La Verea and Sharon Sultan. Accessible via the Facebook page of the Puro Flamenco collective or www.helloasso.com/associations/association-taranita/formulaire/6/widget
