CAN 2022: three Algerian journalists attacked with knives in Cameroon

Three Algerian journalists, who came to cover the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, were victims of a stabbing attack in Douala, and one of them was slightly injured announced, Monday January 10, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) and African Football Confederation (CAF).

The FAF “strongly condemns the cowardly aggression against three Algerian journalists in Douala”, wrote in a statement the Algerian federation, specifying that “one of the three journalists slightly injured was transferred to a health structure for treatment”. The Algerian federation, which specifies that laptops and a passport were stolen, “is indignant at such an incident”.

CAF for his part affirmed that the three journalists were “victims of stabbing perpetrated by unidentified individuals” and condemned “with force this unworthy act”. The Africa Cup of Nations kicked off on Sunday with a victory of the host country against Burkina Faso (2-1). The continent’s flagship competition is due to end on February 6.
