Horror in the middle of Halloween night. Two people were killed and five others injured in stabbing attacks on the evening of Saturday October 31 to Sunday November 1 in Quebec City, in eastern Canada, by a young man who was arrested, announced the police. The assaults took place in Old Quebec, the historic heart of the city.
The suspect, “an elderly man in his mid-twenties”, armed with a sword and dressed in uniform “medieval” has been arrested “shortly before 1 am”, said the spokesperson for the police department of Quebec City, during a press briefing. It has not been formally identified and has been “transported to a hospital for evaluation”, he added. The nature and severity of the injuries are “variables” according to the five people injured, he said. The police, who did not specify the reason for these attacks, opened an investigation and asked residents of “stay inside”.
