A year after the embarrassing elimination against Canet Roussillon FC, Olympique de Marseille have apparently learned their lesson in the Coupe de France. No premature exit from the round of 16 in 2022 for the Phocéens. Jorge Sampaoli’s players held their rank to eliminate US Chauvigny on Sunday January 2 (3-0). There was no miracle at the Beaublanc stadium in Limoges for the National 3 club, the equivalent of the fifth national level.

OM took shelter from the first period. After having multiplied the hot situations on the opposing goal (9th, 14th, 27th), it was Arkadiusz Milik who opened the scoring with an unbalanced volley on a good cross from Luan Peres (30th). After his hat-trick against ES Cannet, the Pole is already four goals in this edition, it is three more than in Ligue 1 this season.

The second blow was dealt by Cengiz Ünder, at the conclusion of a royal back pass from Gerson (41st). After that, the Marseillais were not seen again and even brought the score to 3-0 thanks to Amine Harit at the end of the match (80th), who took advantage of a bad exit from the opposing goalkeeper. The Phocéens were simply never worried by an adversary evolving four divisions below them. They will have to wait until Tuesday to find out the identity of their opponent in the next round.
