Covid-19 vaccine: Human trials of Phase III vaccine are going to start soon in Bhubaneswar. Dr. E. Venkata Rao says that the search for Kovid-19 vaccine has reached the final stage. Appeal to be part of trial of Kovid vaccine

The indigenous vaccine has been developed jointly by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Bharat Biotic. Earlier, the Central Drug Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) approved the Phase III human trial of the vaccine. After the first and second phase of human trials, there is a plan to include thousands of Volunteers in large-scale testing. ICMR has also selected IMS and SUM Hospitals of Bhubaneshwar out of 21 medical institutes across the country, where the third phase of human trials will be done.

Dr. Rao pointed out that like the first two-stage human trials, half of the Volunteer in the final phase of the test would be given a placebo dose, while the rest would be covaccine. Even health workers will be reinstated for human testing. He told that there has been a great and encouraging response from Volunteer, who want to be a part of the test and people above 18 years will be included in the human trials.
