Drug case: ED summons Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati and other Tollywood celebs

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned several celebrities in a money laundering case related to drug trafficking. Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh and Rana Daggubati have been summoned. At the same time, Tollywood celebrities like Ravi Teja, Charmi Kaur and director Puri Jagannath have also been asked to appear before the agency. According to the report of our colleague Times of India, all the celebrities have to appear before the investigating agency between September 2 and 22. Rakul is to appear on September 6, Rana on September 8, Ravi Teja on September 9 and Mumaith Khan on September 15.

The case is four years old
It is a four-year-old case and due to lack of evidence, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Excise Department could not proceed against the actors. As such, no charge sheet was filed against him. Not only this, when the SIT questioned these syllabus, he had denied his role.

Tollywood celebs will be considered as witnesses
Regarding this case, an ED official said, ‘Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department had registered 12 cases and filed 11 charge sheets. At that time the names of about 8 drug traffickers were registered in the charge sheet. Most of them are low-level drug traffickers. We have called excise officials as witnesses. Till we get the evidence, Tollywood syllables will be treated as witnesses. Their names have come up in the investigation.
