Drugs Case: Court dismisses bail plea of Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash

The special NDPS court on Thursday rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash. The case pertains to a drug case related to the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Fearing arrest, Karisma had applied for anticipatory bail in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) court in October last year. After hearing the submissions of Defense and Prosecution, Special Judge VV Widwans rejected Prakash’s application.

NCB, CBI are investigating
However, the court has stayed the order till August 25 so that Karishma Prakash can approach the Bombay High Court. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is probing the alleged nexus of drug peddlers and Bollywood celebrities. This was also revealed when Sushant Singh Rajput died in June last year. The CBI is also separately probing Rajput’s death.

The drug peddler took the name of Karisma
Let me tell you, Karishma Prakash’s name came to the fore when a drug peddler took her name during interrogation after her arrest. The Central Agency has so far arrested more than 20 people in the drugs case. Most of the accused, including Riya Chakraborty, are out on bail.
