While the fire which has killed two people and burned 7,100 hectares of forest since Monday, August 16 in the hinterland of Saint-Tropez is still not under control, the firefighters are calling for “the greatest caution for the hours to come”. All the forests of the Var and Bouches-du-Rhône will still be prohibited from access on Monday 23 August, reports France Bleu Provence. The coastal zone, the Côte Bleue and the Calanques massif are placed at “extreme” risk. The other forest areas are at “very severe” risk.

The expected weather conditions will be “very unfavorable”. In the night from Sunday to Monday first, with a “intense windy episode” and one “strong mistral”, especially in the Rhône valley and around Marseille. On Monday, gusts could reach up to 80 km / h at midday and temperatures climb to 31 degrees, while the level of drought remains “very high” on the coast and the south-east of the department.
