Sleep deprivation and physical inactivity increase the risk of heart disease, stroke and death from cancer. Physical activity levels per week were divided into high (1200), medium (600-1199) and low (1-559). Sleep quality was also placed in several levels. After that, a dozen physical activities were extracted on the basis of information obtained from sleep patterns. The health of the participants was monitored for an average of 11 years i.e. till May 2020 or till death. Its objective was to evaluate the risk of death from all types of heart disease, all types of cancer and lung cancer, among other causes.

15,503 people died during the surveillance period – 4095 were suffering from any one heart disease and 9064 had all types of cancer. Among them, 1932 people died of coronary heart disease, 359 people hemorrhage, 450 blood clots and 1595 people died of lung cancer. 223,445 participants were in the high physical activity group, 57,771 people in the moderate physical activity group and 39,298 people in the low physical activity group. During the research, it was found that the sleep pattern of more than half of the participants was healthy.

Of them, 3 percent were identified as poor sleepers. People who were young, female, lean, financially affluent, consumed more fruits and vegetables and spent less of their day sitting, had no mental health problems, had never smoked, did not work shifts Consumption of alcohol, negligible. The researchers reported that the lower the sleep scores, the higher their risk of death from any cause, all types of heart disease and stroke. On the other hand, low levels of physical activity promoted an inverse relationship between poor sleep and all health outcomes except stroke.
