New Delhi Snoring is something that no one can really control. At bedtime when a person’s body becomes completely calm, they actually start snoring randomly. Due to which the person sleeping with them can be very troublesome. Many people also have poor sleep due to snoring. At the same time, soon a drug is going to come in the market to get rid of snoring.
Snoring loudly is usually a result of sleep apnea. It is most commonly seen in most obese people. Sleep apnea is a disorder that results in snoring. When a person sleeps, the airway muscles naturally relax, but in the case of a person suffering from sleep apnea, these muscles completely collapse. Due to which air comes out from a small gap in the throat which eventually takes the form of snoring. It can also cause breathing blockage.
Researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, US, did a research in 2018 with 20 snorers. In which he gave two medicines to the snoring people, due to which the patients could see much improvement. One of these two grains was atomoxetine. This drug is generally given to children suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for the past 20 years.
The second drug was named oxybutynin. It is given to patients with urinary incontinence. It reduces muscle spasms that control the bladder. Both of these drugs are known to control muscle, which is why people who participated in the study were given a combination. The results of which were very good, people involved in this research will see a lot of improvement.
This is the reason that the new drug currently named as AD109 is a combination of these two. An American firm is making this drug and now a clinical trial is being done. However, these two drugs are also known to have different side effects and hence more research is needed on the drug.
