At least nine high-voltage lines were set on fire overnight from Monday to Tuesday near Grenoble, depriving several thousand homes of electricity, reports France Bleu Isère on Tuesday April 5.

Firefighters were alerted shortly after half past midnight. Eight 20,000 volt lines and one 225,000 volt line were set on fire. The fire is now under control, although the ducts and cables are still burning.

Enedis restored power around 4 a.m. to most homes, but several hundred homes and businesses were still without power Tuesday morning. It was cut in particular in the towns of Crolles and Bernin, as well as in the industrial zone which brings together companies such as STMicroelectronics and Soitec.

This start of fire occurs less than 48 hours after the arson which affected the company STMicroelectronics in Crolles, where anarchist symbols were discovered.
