Mea culpa. The organizer of a prestigious dinner in the presence of Emmanuel Macron in Lyon mentioned, Monday, September 27, “an unfortunate error”, after the chef of Martinican origin Marcel Ravin was turned away the day before, despite an invitation in due form.
“We regret this obviously unintentional incident on our part, there is nothing oriented there”, said Luc Dubanchet, Sirha Food brand director for GL Events. According to him, “a priori”, Marcel Ravin was not on the lists because he had not responded to his invitation. Other people were like him on Sunday night, but “we were able to make up for it” for them, “because we have been warned”. “But there, we were not informed, alas”added Luc Dubanchet, apologizing from GL Events to the Michelin-starred chef at Blue Bay in Monaco.
This evening in honor of great chefs and pastry chefs was organized by the event company GL Events on the sidelines of the International Catering Fair (Sirha), with the President of the Republic and Jérôme Bocuse, president of the Bocuse d ‘Gold. “Shocked and disappointed”, Marcel Ravin had mentioned a “humiliation”. “And they explain to me that we are no different”, he lamented, on Facebook.
