Normandy: two accidents on the A13 cause 1 death, 1 seriously injured and several injured in a pile-up
One person died Thursday, October 29 and several others were injured in two accidents on the A13, reports France Bleu Normandie.
The first accident occurred a little before 6 p.m. on the A13 at Giberville (Calvados), in the direction of Paris-Caen. A heavy truck carrying food collided with a utility vehicle and four other cars. In all, 14 people were involved in this pile-up.
On the spot, the emergency services found a 68-year-old woman declared dead by the SMUR doctor, an 87-year-old woman classified in absolute emergency, eight people in relative emergency and four people unharmed. The victims were transported to the CHU of Caen.
But the facts do not stop there since during the intervention of the emergency services, an accident occurred, this time in the direction Caen-Paris. Seven people were involved: two were classified as a relative emergency and taken to hospital, the other five were left unharmed. These two accidents involved around thirty firefighters, eight ambulances and a road rescue vehicle.
