Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show 2021 apologizes to disgruntled visitors after record attendance

Crowded monster. The Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show, dedicated to Japanese pop culture (comics, video games, cinema, television series, web culture, manga, Japanese animation, cosplay and martial arts), is being held on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 November Porte de Versailles, in Paris.
After two years of absence, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many visitors were in the starting blocks to attend this meeting. The organizers had not foreseen such an influx and could not manage the thousands of visitors present. Some had to wait hours to enter Hall 3 of the show.
I was happy to go to #ParisManga I haven’t been back to a manga convention since 2013, the result: 4:30 am wait, 2:02 pm still in front of the entrance. A shame. pic.twitter.com/YTBBGBaQ1d

Pavilion 3 has a capacity of 3600 people, how many people would you say in this queue? Who decided not to put quotas on your ticket office? @ParisManga #ParisManga

It’s a joke the entrance to #ParisManga. I don’t even know if we’ll be able to go home. I never saw that. They refund the tickets or not? pic.twitter.com/uVlwFaqnfh

#parismanga is an absolute shame… we paid, we do not come back, we do not know anything. You sold thousands of seats knowing that not everyone would fit into Little Hall 3. It’s called an organized gang scam.

Faced with such a crowd, organizers were forced to stop ticket sales on site and advise people to postpone their visits until the next day. “Visitors who unfortunately will not be able to attend the show on Sunday, November 7, will of course be reimbursed for their tickets in full on request after the event”, adds the press release.
