Presidential 2022: Emmanuel Macron promises a Prime Minister “directly in charge of ecological planning”

“The policy that I will pursue in the next five years will be ecological or it will not be.” Emmanuel Macron announced that his Prime Minister would be “responsible for ecological planning”, if he is elected in the second round of the presidential election, during his meeting in Marseille, Saturday April 16. This planning will be entrusted to the Prime Minister because it concerns all areas, all sectors, all investments”according to Emmanuel Macron.

This Prime Minister would be supported in this mission by two new ministries, according to the candidate. First, a ministry of “energy planning”which should “to make France the first nation to get out of gas, oil and coal”, in particular through the development of nuclear power. Emmanuel Macron also wants to create a ministry of “territorial ecological planning”for “organize with local elected officials the environmental transition in each territory”.

These announcements come as many associations denounce the absence of the ecological theme in the campaign. The president and candidate LREM took up the expression of “ecological planning” dear to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in a city where the candidate of La France insoumise had finished at the top of the first round.
