Regional in Paca: Renaud Muselier’s LR list will include LREM members but “no minister, no parliamentarian”


The outgoing president of the region, Renaud Muselier, chose Christian Estrosi, who resigned from LR, to lead the list in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Renaud Muselier announced on Wednesday May 12 that members of LREM, Agir and MoDEm would appear on the list he will submit for the regional elections in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur (Paca) region. Guest of France Bleu Azur, he explains however that there will be no “minister, not parliamentarian” of the presidential majority on this list which must be tabled in the morning. “I want to have a list that is representative of regional action”, justified Renaud Muselier, after two weeks of tensions and rifts within the Republicans. The current president of the region also explains that he has chosen the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, to lead the list in the Alpes-Maritimes. Christian Estrosi who left the party last week.

While a poll published Tuesday, May 11, gives the National Rally list leading the first round of regional in the Paca region, Renaud Muselier, judges that “this poll was done in the worst of times for me with a dramatic psychodrama for LR at the national level and the assassination of the policeman in Avignon”.

“Obviously, you have a push at the national level of the National Front between two and three points, and here in this very sensitive region of nearly five points”, continues Renaud Muselier who is a candidate for his succession.

According to this Ipsos Sopra / Steria poll for Radio France and France Télévisions, the National Rally list led by Thierry Mariani comes far ahead of the voting intentions in the first round in all cases of regional elections in Provence-Alpes-Côte d ‘ Azure.
