Renaud Muselier slams the door. The president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region announced, Wednesday, November 24 on LCI, that he was leaving Les Républicains, regretting a “political drift” towards the far right of some members of the party, including Eric Ciotti, with whom he had a pass on Tuesday. “It’s an important moment, but I can’t see myself there” because “all my life I fought against the National Front” and today “the question is simple: what is our porosity with the far right? The question is not at all clear”, asserted Renaud Muselier, who accused Eric Ciotti of “to convey Zemmour’s ideas inside LR”.
The day before, Tuesday, November 24, Renaud Muselier had supported Xavier Bertrand in the nomination contest for the presidential election. Finally, Xavier Bertrand had distanced himself by writing that he heard “campaign with all candidates whose [s]we friend Eric Ciotti. “
