Three and one which makes four. Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha) signed on Saturday 1 May a third consecutive pole position at the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix after those of 2019 and 2020. By adding the 2020 Andalusian Grand Prix, contested on the same track, c t is the fourth time in a row that the Niçois have taken pole position on the Jerez circuit.

The Habs are ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) and Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team). Johann Zarco will start from the second row, in sixth position on the starting grid.

We knew Fabio Quartararo was particularly at ease on this Jerez circuit which succeeds him better than anyone. Already winner of the two Grand Prix organized on this track last season – that of Spain and Andalusia – the leader of the MotoGP World Championship has left no crumbs for his opponents. From his first timed lap, the Yamaha rider extinguished most of the competition. Only his former Petronas teammate Franco Morbidelli tried to reach him, to no avail. The Italian was 57 thousandths ahead, and will start in second position on the starting grid tomorrow.
