Vaccination: those forgotten on the priority list protest

Over-represented among Sars-CoV-2 victims in intensive care units, people suffering from obesity or severe respiratory failure do not yet have access to vaccination.

They pay a particularly heavy price for Covid, but are not among the beneficiaries of the first phase of vaccination: people suffering from obesity or severe respiratory failure are still waiting for a gesture from the health authorities in the face of this paradox which leaves them helpless and angry.

Go back. On January 14, the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, announced for the following week an extension of the vaccination to all French people over 75 years of age but also to patients at very high risk of developing a serious form of Covid, without condition of age. The list of pathologies concerned, restricted and public, was drawn up by the team of Pr Alain Fischer, Chairman of the Vaccine Strategy Steering Committee. To their surprise, people with obesity, overrepresented among Sars-CoV-2 victims in intensive care units, are not included, nor are people with severe respiratory failure, at first.
