Veteran actress Farrukh Jaffer passed away, worked in films like ‘Umrao Jaan’ and ‘Gulabo Sitabo’

Famous Hindi film actress Farrukh Jaffer died at the age of 89 in Lucknow on Friday. Farrukh Jaffer’s grandson Shaz Ahmed gave this information on Friday. He impressed the audience with his character in Rekha starrer ‘Umrao Jaan’ to Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Gulabo Sitabo’.

Shaj Ahmed told that his maternal grandmother died at seven o’clock in the evening today at his residence located in the special block of Gomtinagar. According to Shaj Ahmed, he will be cremated at the cemetery in Aishbagh at 10 am on Saturday.

According to family sources, Farrukh Jaffer, born in Chakesar village of Shahganj area of ​​Jaunpur, moved to Lucknow for further studies after early education. She was married to freedom fighter and former president of Uttar Pradesh Congress and former MLC SM Jaffer.

Shaaz Ahmed told that Nani made his acting debut with the film ‘Umrao Jaan’ released in 1981. In which she played the role of Rekha’s mother. Apart from this, he had acted in many films including ‘Swadesh’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Secret Superstar’, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ and ‘Peepli Live’. According to Shaaz Ahmed, she played the character of Fatima Begum in the film ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ which released in June last year.
