VIDEO. Rugby: the Six Nations Tournament will take place from February 6, confirms Roxana Maracineanu

Everything is ready for the kick-off, despite the Covid-19 epidemic. “The decision has been taken within the government to have the Six Nations Tournament held on schedule, starting February 6”, confirmed this Tuesday on France 2 the Minister Delegate in charge of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu.

“The French Rugby Federation has submitted a rigorous, strict health protocol to us, which we have submitted to the health authorities”, explains the minister. The international tournament will take place under the principle of “sanitary bubble as we experienced during the Tour de France cycling”. The players will suffer “tests every three days and they will stay in a bubble closed at 30”. The coach of the XV of France “Fabien Galthié purposely restricted the workforce in this protocol to be able to harm the clubs as little as possible”.

The Minister for Sports specifies that the players will be “exempt” of the septaine which is currently imposed on people traveling between the United Kingdom and France. The Italy-France match is due to open the Tournament this Saturday, February 6.
