Violence against a producer in Paris: the Interior Ministry calls for the suspension of a fourth police officer



The Ministry of the Interior has requested the suspension of a fourth policeman from the police administration, implicated after the broadcast of a violent intervention by a music producer in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, franceinfo learned Thursday November 26. A decision is expected Friday on this request.

This is the police officer suspected of having thrown a tear gas canister at the scene of the intervention of the police, the music studio, as can be seen on the video published by the Loopsider site. Earlier in the evening, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin announced on France 2 that the three police officers would be dismissed “if justice finds a fault (…), they have soiled the image of the Republic”.

Three members of the security forces have already been suspended for four months while an investigation has been requested from the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN). A decision which follows in particular a request from the Paris police prefect, after the dissemination of images showing this very violent intervention on social networks.
