Makhana Kheer Recipe: The birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna i.e. Krishna Janmashtami is now going to come in a few days. This festival will be celebrated on 30 August this year. Let us tell you that every year the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadra month. This festival is very special for the devotees of Krishna. On this day people keep fast and worship at 12 o’clock in the night after the birth of Shri Krishna.
On this special occasion, people prepare various sweets and dishes to welcome Lord Krishna. On this day, people prepare different types of dishes of Kanha’s choice, one of which is Makhana kheer. It is as easy to make as it looks delicious to eat. So let’s know its easy recipe-
Ingredients needed to make Makhana ki Kheer
Desi Ghee – 2 tbsp
Makhane – 2 cups
Powdered sugar – 1 cup
Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
and almonds – as needed
Method of making Makhana Kheer
First of all take a vessel and keep it on the gas and pour ghee in it.
Now let the ghee heat up and add makhana to it.
Now fry these makhana a little and leave it to cool down later.
When these makhana cools down, cut them into small pieces.
Now boil milk in the vessel on the other side and after it comes to boil, add makhana to it.
Now cook it for 15 minutes and keep stirring it in between.
After that turn off the gas and when it becomes lukewarm, take it off the gas.
Now add sugar, cardamom powder, chopped almonds and nuts to it.
Your makhana kheer is ready.
Offer Makhane Kheer to Kanha.
