It’s the return of the recreation nose to the air! The mask will no longer be mandatory in school lessons from Thursday, Matignon announced on Wednesday June 16 after receiving a favorable opinion from the High Authority for Health (HAS). The government reversed its initial decision to consider schoolyards as spaces of “grouping and proximity” and maintain the obligation to wear a mask. The latter will no longer be compulsory as of Thursday outside, with a few exceptions, the Prime Minister said earlier, after the Council of Ministers.
The Ministry of Education, clarified in the evening that this announcement on the abandonment of the wearing of masks in schoolyards is too late for official information to be communicated to the staff of National Education. It will therefore be in place from tomorrow. Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer should specify the terms of this measure Thursday morning, at the microphone of France Inter Thursday morning.
