Vegan diet is a vegetarian diet in which people do not eat animals or their products. These people do not include any dairy products like milk, eggs, meat, cheese or butter in their diet. Only vegetables are included in this diet.

People adopt such diet for morality and environment. They try to maintain the balance of nature by not using any animal products. Some people do this because they do not want to kill any animal or steal the milk of the calf for their selfishness.

Vegan diet includes legumes, grains and seeds. Also includes fruits, vegetables and everything that is produced by plants such as nuts and dry fruits. People on a vegetarian diet try to include all types of foods in their diet and include the maximum amount of proteins and nutrients to stay healthy.

In order to stay healthy in this vegetarian diet, people try to include maximum amount of all types of food, protein and nutrients in their diet. But that does not mean that this diet is the best. This diet includes foods rich in antioxidants, which prevent chronic disease from occurring. It also protects against diseases like blood pressure and diabetes. It has absolutely no cholesterol and even saturated fat is very low in it. It reduces the risk of major problems and keeps your heart and body healthy.

This diet also saves the lives of animals. It also helps in protecting the environment and also reduces your carbon footprint. It helps in controlling your diet and your food. A vegan diet helps you lose more weight by reducing your calorie intake and increasing your protein intake. But this does not mean that vegan diet has only advantages and not disadvantages. There are two sides to every coin, so are the vegan diets, like –

Completely eliminating animal produce from your diet can lead to deficiencies in the body. Your body needs vitamins and minerals such as calcium and omega-3s, which are available from meat and dairy products. In a vegan diet, you need to rely on other sources to get enough nutrients. Due to which your digestive system can get damaged, cause discomfort and can make your digestive system weak.

You can weaken your body in saving animals and adapting to the environment. You will not be able to eat out at all because there are many restaurants that serve vegan food. Lack of proteins and minerals in the body can aggravate your existing disease or lead to major health problems. You will cut too many calories from your diet and then a calorie deficit can lead to weight gain.

So if you want to go on a vegan diet, then once you should discuss your body type with your dietician, lest you have to give it up.
