What will the house of tomorrow look like?

FIGARO TOMORROW – Facing the new town of Almere, just half an hour from Amsterdam, an initiative by the eco-design studio Biobased Creations foreshadows our habitat of tomorrow.

Opposite the new town of Almere, just half an hour from Amsterdam, on the edge of an artificial lake, stands the imposing site of the Floriade on 60 hectares. This new edition of one of the largest international horticultural exhibitions, which takes place once every ten years, is placed under the sign of sustainable cities.

After six months of exhibition, the site, designed by the architectural firm MVRDV, will also be transformed into a green district, called Hortus, with its school and its arboretum, which will accommodate housing. We take you to discover a pavilion of this exhibition, “The Exploded View Beyond Building”, an initiative of the eco-design studio Biobased Creations which prefigures our habitat of tomorrow , from innovative biosourced materials.
